Nope....you're overestimating. Mayweather has fought dozens of guys with superior "striking" skills to McGregor for fights as long as 12 rds. Do some research.

Floyd is worth an estimated $400 million. He has 40 fights. An average of a little over 8 million per fight... he stands to make 100 million or more for ONE FIGHT... he is an idiot if he doesn't sign.

I've never boxed or fought MMA but I think using boxing gloves vs mma gloves is going to hurt McGregor as well. Boxing gloves have way more padding than your standard mma glove. Conor can hit hard but will his punches have the same impact they normally do? Just a thought. My money would be on Mayweather rope a doping him, and doing just enough to out point him. He'll let Conor wear himself out trying to land a big shot.

I think he's more concerned with his legacy at this point. If he beats McGregor, it really doesn't mean much because he's an MMA fighter. If he loses to him, it would be devastating. Greed is a powerful thing, and I'm not saying he won't do it, but I don't think he will.

Very valid point. You could be right.

I'd put my money on ego, lack of perceived threat and 100 + million getting Mayweather in that ring but it would definitely be a gamble on my part.

If we start talking about a follow up fight in which Mayweather gets in the octagon for an MMA fight with Connor... I'd bet the house that never happens.
