This. Plus a couple IPA's to go along with it. Hopefully the rain holds off here at the beach!

My parents will be in town, they rented a house on the lake and it has a nice big grill. My dad had mentioned wanting ribs, but I don't really have the time to smoke ribs, so does anybody have a good grilling technique?

I was thinking about rubbing them the night before and then cooking them with indirect heat for a few hours, but if anybody has a better way I'd love to hear.

Rub em and then double wrap em in foil. Go bake in the oven for a couple hours. You can then refrigerate them for whenever you are ready. Just sauce em and grill em over direct heat and serve. Won't be smoked, but will be juicy and tender and you should be able to get some char, like you would get at most restaurants.

If you have an extra grate, pick up a full size tin steamer pan. Put it directly on the grill grate and put the second on top. I use a few bricks to give it support. Normally pour a 2 liter bottle of cheerwine and a liter of water in the pan, you can use any liquid you want. I cook them over that at about 250 for 2 hours. Double wrap in foil (sauce at this point if you are using a sauce) cook another 2 hours. Take the foil off and put directly on the grate, heat to 300 for the sauce to set (if I am using sauce I leave the water pan in place, if going dry I put them directly on the heat), you can add additional sauce when you put them on the grate if necessary. This is the way I always cook ribs but typically use a smoke generator for the first 2 hours.

Yea 350, that is what I would suggest too. It is a good way to do ribs if you can't smoke them

I would say 2 hours tops though in the oven, maybe little less depending on when you plan on grilling them

Got my green peanuts at Harvey's today for $0.98 a pound. I'm tempted to buy a crapload, bag 'em up individually and sell em in the parking lot. Could probably make a couple hundred bucks at $5 a bag.

First home game, whats on the menu?

The ribs came out great two weeks ago, thinking I will cook em in the oven Friday night then finish off on the grill Saturday. Wife is bringing some BBQ from our favorite joint in the upstate (Circle M in Liberty, if you haven't been there you should go), will also be doing bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers, and probably a meat and cheese tray. Oh and KoBeerz, and probably some rum, mio's and sprite.
